| Darlene Moore creates
playful kaleidoscopes for your fun and relaxation. Each person's view is
a unique changing design. Kaleidoscopes are a spectacular collaboration
of art and science. The origin of the word "kaleidoscope" is Greek and
translates to "beautiful form watcher".
The bodies of the scopes are made from stained glass, bevel glass, or
metal, and are decorated with various gems, jewels, or found objects.
The vision cell at the end of the scope can be colorful gel wands, glass
shapes, or cells of fun objects. Inside is the key to a sharp beautiful
image - high quality front surface mirrors arranged in various angles to
reflect designs and colors. Many of the kaleidoscopes are attached to
vintage candle holders that serve as unique stands.
Sir David Brewster, a Scottish scientist,
invented the kaleidoscope in 1816 as a scientific optical instrument. It
has been entertaining to all ages ever since.
