Patrice Carbaugh
Patrice
Carbaugh grew up with a love of nature and has always been
fascinated by glass and its magical properties. While living in
Montana
she bought a kiln and started teaching herself to work with
fused glass
experimenting with texture, light and the alchemy of combining
glass with
precious metals to see what develops. Her inspiration comes
from the
natural world and the many places she has lived and visited.
She spent
20 years working with wildlife at the Los Angeles Zoo and, just
for fun,
went horse trekking in Kenya, Ireland and various parts of the
United States.
To fulfill her commitment to wildlife she moved to Massachusetts
where
she earned an undergraduate degree, then to St. Georges
University in
Grenada and the University of Edinburgh in Scotland to earn her
Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Recently, she studied in
Florida to
add animal acupuncture to her list of skills. Patrice now
resides in
New Mexico with her well-traveled cats, Gabriel and Eli, where
she
continues her life purpose to heal, create, and offer the world
her special
gifts
captured in glass.
